For dentists: The Perio+: combined quantitative aMMP-8 pool test and PCR perio bacteria testFor the quantitative analysis of the active matrix-metalloproteinase-8, a sulcus pool sample is first collected from four teeth using GSF/PISF collection strips. This is followed by collection of the bacteria sample for the PCR examination using paper tips. We use Hain-Lifescience's tried and true micro-IDent® for the analysis of the periodontal pathogens. Collecting the sample is painless and can be performed by a dental hygienist. The samples are then sent to the dentognostics lab in Jena. Once the analysis has been done, the dentist receives a separate report with a graphical presentation, an interpretation of the status of the tissue and a diagnosis concerning the extent of the impact from periodontal pathogens. Sample collection devices can be requested directly from dentognostics.
