Detecting inflammations – peri-implantitis preventionStudies indicate that more than 50 percent of those with dental implants suffer from peri-implant mucositis and 12 to 40 percent from peri-implantitis. (Lindhe J, Meyle J, 2008). And the development of peri-implantitis doesn’t just pose a danger to dental implants that have already been inserted. Here, just as in cases of periodontitis, it must be assumed that these inflammations will have a negative influence on the whole organism. Inflammatory parameters, such as collagenase-2 (aMMP-8), can be ten times higher in cases of peri-implantitis than they are in cases of periodontitis. Via the local infection, bacteria and inflammatory parameters make their way into the entire organism. An aMMP-8 early detection test measures the onset of enzyme activity – a simple and sure way to diagnose an inflammation. (Source: IDI-PARO)

The PerioMarker®
rapid test reveals hidden inflammations. It can identify the risk even before any clinical signs become visible, such as irreversible destruction of periodontal tissue and jawbones or loosening of teeth.

An aMMP-8 rapid test is especially effective in indicating previously concealed periodontal inflammations in at-risk groups. And early detection means that preventive measures can be taken before symptoms set in.
